If you wet the engine then i would start by checking if there is any moisture inside the distributor cap also pull all the ignition leads off the cap one by one and make sure there is no water in there. First thing an old Car Detailer does after a degrease.

You probably need to blow out your dizzy and ignition leads with an air gun, even the smallest amount of water can make it not start, when you clean your motor you should always put a rag over the dizzy and coil so no water gets in there..
Good luck.

This is what I do after the cap gets wet.
1. Mark and label the plug wires
2. Remove the cap
3. Take inside the house and wash with dish soap and water
4. Let dry overnight
5. Next morning fit the cap and engine starts right up
