Theres a guy in QLD, from Yatla Head worx that has got 300Hp+ out of an A-series. It is fuel injected running a big turbo and a fair amount of work done to it to reach that amount of performance.

I spose the sky is the limit! depending on how much you want to spend on it.

"I spose the sky is the limit! depending on how much you want to spend on it."

..and how long you want it to last

Race motors get big horsepower because they only last a few races.
You don't want that engine in your daily driver!

well I just pulled down our 12a after three race seasons motor was not balanced was only bored 40 thou, flat top pistons and running at 7.5.1 reving to 7700 every race standared head and carb dont know what power but who cares when you can rev a motor like that every time it runs and not blow these are truly remarkable engines.

mmm7.5:1 comp ratio on an NA engine would be mighty slow lol

100hp at the wheel out of an A12...or any A series really, will cost you a little bit. dont think it would really be that achievable on a tight budget if its NA

oops yes i did mean a12 just bieng a bit brain dead mmm yep it was a little slow but it set a lap record on the 440 m clay track in hobart of 18.89 seconds running in second gear so it is not that bad hopefully with the new build it will have a lot more grunt once the season is under way, and the aust title is run we will start a post for other kids that are running these engines so they can have a little bit of a head start with what to look for and what not to do along with this info I will give full credit to the shops and persons that are helping us because as we have found we can build a motor that works very well without spending big big dollars we will also have dyno results on the new motor.

When I was tuning my racecar I saw about 120hp at the wheels at 6500rpm. Didn't rev it any further but could be making a little bit more at higher revs.
