would like to remove the external tailgate latches and some how fit an internal locking mechanism like on more modern utes, any ideas on doing it and what make of ute to get locks off.

Some guys put the stock latches on the inside. That's a pretty cool idea.

i removed my latching system aswell, if your interesed i have pics in my project thread. i used a vz ute mechanisim, and it worked really well didnt involve too many mods. but pics say 1000 words haha, have a look if you like cheers Dan

how would you put the latches on the inside? (the stockies) they sorta open too wide i woulda thought, wouldn't be able to pull it down?
