Put a set of Hilux s12+8 Calipers on the front of the coupe today and took it for a spin to get a feel of how good the upgrade was. At this point Im still running the stanza drum brakes on the rear and the car has a 180b booster.

The next job and I have started is putting the R31 diff and brakes in the rear.

Anyway when I took it for a spin, under hard braking I found that I was locking the rear drums when the weight shifted to the front of the vehicle.

Anyway Im curious, before I get finished if the situation will be better when I go to disc's on the rear as well?

The Hilux brakes are certainly better and probally the reason the vechile is dipping to the front under hard braking as the old Stanza Girlocks were not that good and with stuffed rotors they were inadequate.

Cheers

good to hear that the brakes are done and working ,the main reason why i went for the commo fronts and skyline rear is cos they are pretty much the same as what would normaly be on a skyline or commo ,and if i use the commo or skyline master it should like normal

maybe when the diff goes in the brakes will even out and have the right pressure as to what it should have ,and if not you could put a bias in the line and that should stop your lock ups

i think ive got one if you want it ? i wont use it on my coupe so it might come in handy with yours

Bigger brakes at the rear might make it worse, you might need a brake bias valve.

Thats wat worry's me Nigel, but wont know till get it done basically. Goin to take it to my mechanic and get him to bleed the system so I am 100% there is no air in the system as the front brakes were a rite pain to bleed today.

Yeah check that first but you should feel air in the system through the pedal.

Shock absorber and suspension bush condition can cause these issues too. How soft is the front end on your car?
Wilwood brake bias valves are cheap and effective at $80-90.
