my older brother is a mechanic at a local repair shop and his boss went to an rta meeting regarding enginneering modified vehicles and if there not done by september 31 they will have to follow a new set of guidelines ie one of them being engine size can be no greater than 15% regardless of brake and suspension upgrades and if your car did not have something fitted from factory you can not put it on ie if your car did not come with turbo then you cant have a turbo,if it didnt come with spoiler kit you cant have one these re just some new regs not 100% certain.it also doesnt matter if your car was previously engineered by 31 sept after then your car will have to meet new regs which means re-engineer and your car that may have passed before may not pass after the 31 sepyt

The NSW RTA is proposing changes to the current registration system for modified vehicles. These changes will mean that the majority of modified vehicles will be classified as individually constructed and will have to comply with the ADR's current on the day that it goes for registration.

'new modified vehicles' ? surely they can't retrospectively apply.
