Over the last couple of years the coupe has been sulking (more than I want to admit) so its time to start a little project to get some interest back in it.

Since flaring the guards with steel flares cut from a Mazda 323 guard, my front spoiler now looks a bit narrow.

With 15x7 wheels and some neg camber from longer bottom arms, it only really comes to the center of the wheels.

So the idea is Spoiler Mods to Suit the Flares.

Given that I don't want to cut up my already modified front spoiler and undo all the hard work already completed, especially given I don't complete many of my ideas, I was think of making a cheap and quick mock up using craft wood and sign writers plastic board (don't know what its called) so I'm fishing for ideas of where to start other than the rule book for IPRA which will be my overall guide.

Been surfing the forum and am just more confused about what I want than before so thought the best way would be to ask?

If I come up with a plan I intend to document my failures so that others can learn :D

My current one is a copy of an old spoiler almost the same as the road spoiler Alfa Motorsport do I think.

This is the rule I want to work to, well the diagram at least.

why not copy your existing one and add width to the center section?

could almost just fibreglass it together your self easily enough.

Seriously considered doing this or getting a 1600 one and doing the same thing.

However I have been looking at some of the angled forward lip style ones and thinking that maybe a combination of two styles may give a better performing spoiler. More rigidity with less fiberglass.

I have attached my starting point for reference

Well I have spent a couple of hours on this and the results were bad really Bad

But now Ive been and tried it Im happy to move on. Im thinking a modified datsun 1600 version of my spoiler will give the results Im looking for and isnt going to look so silly

Funny how what looked so good in my head look so dumb once in prototype

Well 1600 one has arrived and I am happy with the fit

It lines up quite nice with the flares is 30mm deeper and sits 30mm lower on the body

Would be too low for a pure road car but given this is a track day toy should be pretty good

Couple of small mods needed and some spacers in the center behind the number plate to make it sit nice but is almost a bolt on fit

Not as good a fit as the 1200 spoiler before the flares but much better with the flares
