The ball may be missing from the passageway. It functions as a check-valve to prevent leaking fuel.

Hi DD

The Small Ball is there and there is a locked mechanism spring also kept preventing it from come out an also i did not take the ball out too, could this be a problem with piston end rubber washer worn out(it was not broken)
will a repair kit solve this issue ?

the size of the ball also could not be an issue because it was running good earlier

thanks

It could be the weighted rod, which is the counterpart of the ball.

Or it could be the float level is too high. When the engine is idling, look through the glass. Is the fuel level at the line?

Hi Guys

Yesterday i checked the carb and also pulled the accelarator valve and checked the small ball was there correctly, started it and kept about 10 minutes, it worked perfectly and the fuel level was correct at that time, then after again carburetor flooded, fuel came out through the accelerator pump piston top rubber (as per above pic),
any Suggestion ?
i thought of buying a repair kit and install accelerator pump piston and check it back again
when the carburetor is flooded i pulled out the accelerator piston out and checked the small ball that was kept perfect in the location .

thanks

The carburetor flooded? That means fuel runs out the top and down in the throats. Is that what happened? At teh same time the fuel level will rise in the fuel bowl and will be seen in the sight glass.

Flooding indicates that the needle-and-seat valve is not correctly installed or needs replacement. That type of carburetor pictured uses a spacer on the float pivot, perhaps it is missing (common problem after putting a "kit" in).

Hi DD

thanks, do you have an any idea what is the exact model of this carb, this is fitted on 1979 mitsubishi Lancer A72 Wagon,
this carburetor doesn't have floater adjustment pin like hitachi , it has a fixed floater ping and floater can be only adjusted by bending the floater adjuster part , so there is no way that floater can go wrong unless purposely done,i am sure i did not change it,
i have only a doubt about installing the red color part i will check it back , because it is little complicated than hitachi, it has a needle small spring and a small nut inside the spring etc,

if i can find a repair manual i will be confidence over it any one has an idea about finding the correct carb model and manual ?

thanks

Hi Guys

I have bought a new carb rebuilt kit for this carburetor and
installed these things

Power Valve
Main Jets
Floater Valve
Accelerator Pump Piston and Check Ball
Air fuel Mixture Needle
Another slow jet i guess

and i fixed the carburetor and started the car it did not start ,(First Bad Experience after a carburetor rebuilt)
Could not start it anyway checked the floater glass it was up to the correct level and checked the ignition on plugs those were ok,then finaly removed it back.
and found out
Power valve was not tighten properly to the edge
and also there were 2 small check balls on the rebuilt kit and i installed them to Red and Yellow Arrows and later found that out of 2 check balls that were there on the car earlier one was little bigger than one,
Where should i install the Big Check Ball is it to the Accelerator pump chamber(Yellow) or to REd Chamber ?

are those mistakes could be the reason for it to not starting ?

Please i need your guys assist

thanks
regards
sumith
