I need to get a road worthy for my Datsun so I can get a club permit, The car is in great condition original 90,000 k's. Just wondering if anyone has been through this and has any advice on what they might pick up during the inspection.

I just had mine done recently with the new VicRoads rules but it depends a lot on the year of manufacture on your car. If it's manufactured before 1976 it's quite easy, so long as it starts, stops and isn't covered in rust since most pollution and safety rules came in after they were manufactured, meaning those newer rules don't apply to them.

If your car is stock, the things you're likely to get picked up on are brakes (pads and rotors), suspension bushings, bearings and rust. If any of the rust you have is structural it will need to be cut out and repaired.

Other than that it'll be little things like wiper blades and fluid levels.

It's a full Rwc required so no different to a fully reg car. Should have done it last week.
Also you need to join an affiliated club on the cps register with vic roads.

Thanks for the feedback, It's a 1974 Datsun 120y no rust and all stock. I am already a member of a club so that's all sorted. I am putting new tyres on it so I will check the break pads and Suspension too.

Sounds like it should go fine.

Just make sure it looks clean and tidy when you take it in. Most mechanics are pretty happy to overlook smaller things if you make their job easier.
