Hi Guys, does anyone have a GOOD contact for radiator work? it seems the rebuilding of old radiators might be a dying art, the mod of choice on a 1000 is to bung a triple core in, then it is good for whatever A series you can stuff into it, just been doing a bit of a hunt, and some of the quotes to recore are crazy,$495, $510, $550, and $650 for aluminium, I'm in Perth, but at this rate, it could be worth post...
cheers,

You are right, its because the cost of a new aluminum radiator is half that of a recore.

Will a 24" wide radiator fit the 1000? 1986 Golf 1.8 is triple core thickness, same height, all aluminum and very inexpensive. 1200 guys use them here.
The Champion on eBay is also popular at $200 for triple core aluminum in stock 1200 size.

Dunno if a 1200 one will fit but you can get an alu one brand new for 2-300 now. Wish I'd waited and done that rather than pissing around with the Civic one I bought and made fit.
