just been flicking through the tech section an dhave been toying around with this idea too. i found a carb bonnet from a datsun (nissan) homer tha uses the sme hitachi as the a12. Now with a cold air feed, would this be of a slightly greatrt benefit than the stock rubbish bin tin?
Especially with a link or k&n sucking in cold air from outside the engine bay, through a pipe into the carb bonnet?

On other cars, cold-air intake is proven on the dyno. Every Mustang magazine has tested variations (5.0s come with cold air from the factory). Some designs make a little more horespower than others, for example the filter design. But all make more power than sucking hot air from the engine compartment. We're only talking about 1%-3%, but it's practically free. Cold air is denser than warm air, so it's a bit of a supercharging effect so to speak.

its easy to do is it not just a bit of flexible constrctoin stuff like that ventilation stuff or even the garden stuff the black stuff then make it go from the front bottem to the top near the filter so it comes strait out next to the filter is that a good way or a waste of time

stuff up but does any one know about a excel u no the tywanease things or wat eva my mum has one and there is a pipe that goes from the front just above the grill to the filter then the engine so is that cold air induction

ive been finkin bout this too as i was hottin up a mates v8 commondoor with him and the cold air intake was recomended as cheep nd effective, but how to fit it to a 32/36? as the filter plate is not round like a 350 holley, or the stock carb which you could clamp a intake pipe to nd feed it up the front some where. i was finkin of doctoring next to the radiator so it fits between the light nd radiator but behind the grill with a pod of some sort. any thoughts?

this is what i have got.. it even has the flexible hose that usually attaches to a remote air filter box

And heres the almost finished product, just
have to move the horn and place piping to movce the filter directly into the opening

put a shield on the side of the radiator to help guide the hot air away or past the air filter and you're golden.
My airfilter is in the same location. The temp. sender in the air cleaner box usually shows outside air temperature, unless I'm sitting idle for too long.
