Hey Buff,
Just had a look at the ozdat site and there is a dude in knoxville, victoria with a 32/36 weber for sale with all linkages (to suit datsun sunny) for $125. It is the first ad in the spares list. Worth a look and not a bad price.
Happy hunting...

Hey, why don't you get a decent single sidie for now -run the motor in. Then save up another $1000 or so and get a cheap s/charger and manifold. Bolt it all together and blow the twin sidies into the weeds...

If you are building a strong bottom end, you might as well make use of it.

All this talk of twins and singles... get blown dude!!

no that sounds good to me you will be plesently suprised with the 32/36, they are perfect for everyday use and give good power results

but nuthing near twins

Thanks for the input guys. I'm still unsure as to what I'll do. I'm not going to skimp on the block at the moment so I'll have a strong bottom end. I'll get some moderate headwork done to the A15 head and a decent cam, and I reckon at this stage I'll run it with extractors / decent exhaust and a properly set up 32/36 (I think )
Theres no reason this shouldn't work until I can organise some decent twins.........is there
Hopefully thats not too soft B120
as I'm starting to get frustrated in the design process - too much thinking - not enough doing

bigger is GENERALLY better at higher revs (dodgeman is gonna grill me for that), if you go for twin sidies you will get more power up top and therefore a higher maximum hp reading, but the low end could be sacraficed compared to a single side or downdraught

If i killed you we would all lose out & i would have one less peer to debate with, so I'l pass on the homicide because you are absolutely right. You emphasised the "generally" part & we both know that if the engine lives in the higher rpm band a lot, then this is a good setup if properly tuned.
You also quite correctly wrote that an induction that is optimised for top end power will very likely suffer low speed problems, & if the engine is used as a town hack, this might be too heavy a price to pay in the long run for some.

A single side [or down] draught just doesn't measure up in the d**k measuring stakes, yet it may prove to be the best solution in many street applications. It would certainly be a lower cost option if new parts are bought & would be easier & cheaper to tune.
A decent Webber or DelOrto will flow enough air to feed just about any street driven A series very nicely, but it doesn't have that WOW factor that impresses the boys, it just works good.

Yeah twins are the way to go, the A series is meant to rev high properly setup, you'll get more power out of twins than you ever will with a single of the same (or the 32/36). You will notice a night and day difference going to twin sidedrafts. I fell I have some experience with this as I've ran them all. All on the same engine I started out with stock carb years ago, then switched to 32/36 DGV and it ran way better, then switched to twin SU's (GX setup) and it ran even harder. Finally went to twin 40mm Dellorto's and freaked out how awesome they were. I didn't lose any low end grunt, and my quarter mile times went from 19's to 15's, but that includes a couple other mods too :) (lightweight flywheel, ported/polished head, bigger valves, MSD ignition, electronic fuel pump/regulator, chrome-moly pushrods, headers). I ran each setup for at least 2 years a piece and would never go back to any of the others if I had a choice, but I haven't tried injection yet..that'd be next if I stuck with A15 The only problem is each setup required a little more and more tuning/maintenance as i progressed. If you can get the Webers set up and tuned well, it is SWEET. If you can't afford, run it in with a stock carb or cheap replacement and just save up a little longer for those twin sidies!!!!!! Or maybe the Matsuoka MSR Flat Valve carbs....yum.

yes dont be soft get twins but i have heard a single is great for Toruqe, if u run i mottakahana or sumthing where u need low down torque etc.....

i just wouldnt waste moeny on getting or making single manifold and tuning one weber, setting all the linkaages up for it, when in the end a extra side draught carb would cost $250 or rounda bouts. just put 32/36 on and save up for the twins

i love my car bein WEBER driven none of theis panzy injection, when all it does is save couple of dollars, doesnt change power range and doesnt have the sound!
(might get a bit a flack from this but oh well )

hang on a minute, i dont think he listens to me much

oh, and he's piked on the SR20VE plans he had
