The SR20DET installs in LHD cars, generally use a custom exhaust manifold, and don't fit "nicely", but it can be made to work.

I'm talking about PL510 installs in general.

Using a rack and pinion alleviates some of the problems, but creates a few more aswell.

The only way that you'll know is to hang it in the bay, and measure it up. Keep exhaust clearance in mind when positioning the engine in the engine bay.

Ah LHD could be a worry. I have seen an SR conversion where they didnt move the firewall back but dont have any pics so it can be done.

Yep clutch was completed on the weekend, plenty of room!

Great illustration. Is there much room for the clutch pedal there?

Due to the size of the engine and lack of room we decided to extend the firewall so we were able to fit a decent intercooler, radiator and thermos. The welded box is where the firewall has been moved back, the welded extension on the left is due to the dump pipe on the turbo.

What is the welded box under the dash, the one with the small welded arms?

Damn sunlight, yeah thats where the shifter pops through. Where it runs flat. The ute will be running a rebuilt S13 SR20DET with the same mods on my CA (GT28, EMS, FMIC, Borg Warner etc).

We are currently completing the conversion on a 1200 ute and you will have issues with the trans tunnel being too narrow. We have completely refabricated a new trans tunnel, we are lucky we know an excellent welder! I will post a pic up when I get home.

The shifter does sit further back but that hasnt presented too many problems. The handbrake has been moved and it seems ok now. I had the same problem on mine when I decided to change from a MR30 box to a S13 box but a quick change of the handbrake position and it was ok.
