Webers mainly from mechanical vibration causing the balance screw to turn and come loose. SU style carbs from the same and also from barometric pressure and air density changes, or lack of damper oil or correct grade of damper oil.

Build up of fine sludge in jets from inadequate filteing of the uel aslo caiuses problems. Blocked air filters and mechanical damage from hings getting bumped or broken.

On webers the big dramas is people screwing in the dle mixture screws hard against the seat and breaking the idle seats. This stuffs the carbs completely, they become a non repairer for most people..
