I had a overdrive box rebuilt, I gave it to the guy in a hundred pieces.
He charged me six hundred bucks now I don't know if he did the synchro's or not but he did mention that one bearing alone was $100.
When I was still doing Honda parts there were a couple of g/box bearings that could only be sourced "genuine"even though they were made by the likes of NOK ect and doing a price comparison bearings bought thru CBC were about half the price.

speaking of 5speeds..... how much for a full rebuild kit? how $ much labour? just wanna know what it has cost other people.

is it worth just changing just snycros and selectors, or is it better just go the whole Hog a do a full rebuild?. (no bearing nosie's in mine just 2nd hard to change down too, need to slow right down and 3 clunks abit going up)

are the rebuild kits rare.....

Cheers

EDIT: sorry mines a FS5W60A box :) too i have Rebuild sheets for all three 5speed boxs, wish i had the skill to do it!..... might play around with a 4speed just to get some thought and info on the Aseries boxs

The option one was the Nissan competion close ratio gearbox, 1:1 5th gear, can't remember the other ratio's off hand, I think it was about 2.6:1 first.

Errol? you'd know

$1000 in good nick or $1500 rebuilt.

Parts are the problem for these boxes as coupling rings, bearings and selector forks are hard to get.
