faded orangy - owned by an old lady that lives at palaranda. It looks almost rust free except for the bottom of the front guards & the boot floor. pretty easily plated me thinks. All around the glass, the sills etc all seem clean.

A mate of mine bought it off her about 6 months ago & has since got other financial commitments so he can;t finish it. (he didn't really start).

I haven't even picked it up yet. I live in Wulguru & the car is at Rangewood atm.

Wow, small world! I'm in Townsville too!

I was probably going to either rering & bearing it or maybe drop in some ACL slugs. My first car (well, first 2) was a 120y, fun as and indestructable (well, almost)

if its got OIL in it she will take it

the bottom ends are very strong. but i would imagine with a Turbo or SC setup you could kill one thats in poor condition.

From memory there is only one pic on this whole site of a killed aseries bottom end. a conrod sticking out the side... : (

your planning to do a full balance of the motor etc? should be fine then, as long as you dont have like a 500 000km bottom end or something like that.

who has killed a Aseries here?? and how?? i couldnt on my old a12 and she had easy 30 000kms easy.

Hi All,
I'm the proud new owner of a 73 auto 1200 sedan.

Plans for the car at this stage include an A14 or A15, extractors, toyota supercharger, webber, 5 speed conversion, 120Y discs.

Sound like a plan?

How strong are the bottom ends of these things? Being low compression it shouldn't be a drama if the bottom end is OK, should it?

Cheers
Ash
