(1) Yes, the heads are interchangeable. A15 head is probably better, but there's not much in it.
(2) At the risk of sounding like a broken record, go for a 32/36 Weber and a 30/60 cam (Wade 169 is just the shot) and you will have a super road car.
(3) Sending a head out for porting is labour intensive and therefore expensive. Find someone who knows what to do and offer him beer, and watch carefully what he does.You might be able to recover the slab from someone else, the point being that there is not a lot of witchcraft involved

I just scored myself a Datsun sunny, i have decided i want a bit more power. I have never played with A series engines before, so i need a bit of advice. Last time i was at the wreckers i noticed a Nissan Vanette and it seemed to have a A15 in it? this is the most desired A series i could bolt in? does it bolt straight in? Also what G box can i put behind it thats pretty strong?

Also, like the L series, can i bolt on a A14 head? for better comp? whats the best head i could use? Are there any other mild mods the engine takes well to? whats a good mild cam for it? Also i will use a 32/36 weber, is this good on the motor? How much would it cost for a ported head with heavy duty springs?
