1) Try Yarnell's 15 Pioneer Way (corner of Evelyn), Mountain View, CA. NorCal UFO (a 510 club) has it's yearly safety inspection/car show here. I don't know if they can do anything for you but they should be able to steer you to a shop that knows.
2) You could try to email
bobs1200 with questions . He is obviously a member of this club and I think he's also in the South Bay. I met him at an autocross at DeAnza College. He seemed very nice and has a very fast 1200.
I don't have any track experience. For what it's worth, I have the stock 1200 struts, cut down 4" with VW jetta cartridges and an Addco front bar. I'm planning on putting in 210 struts for the slightly larger brakes and the larger diameter strut tube. The Tokico adjustable cartridge for an 84 VW jetta should fit these struts. They are too big for the stock 1200 struts. In back, I pretty much have the Datsun Competion suspension replicated with stock leafs and 1.5" blocks.
