My third 1200 coupe was refered to as the "ORANGE ROUGHY". Because it was orange and pretty rough.

Let's see if I can remember all of mine over the years. My '76 Mercury Capri was "the Indy car" because the metallic green paint stood out like a neon dick, ND. My '85 Dodge Shelby Charger Turbo was "Myrtle" for reasons that escape me now. I had a Pontiac Catalina for a while that I called "PBY" after the WWII seaplane. There are several stories behind the Chickenhawk's name that I won't go into again. "George," "Gil," "Marty," "the Chuck wagon," and "Johnny Turbo" were all named after the people I bough them from. "The Louisiana Purchase" was purchased in Louisiana, duh. {Edit} I suppose some folks from other countries might not know what the Louisiana Purchase is, now that I think about it. You see, a vast stretch of the central US, starting in the south in what is now the State of Louisiana, was bought from the French sometime in the past, I don't remember when. That was the LP. US history lesson over. {Edit} "Herman" was going to be the monster truck, is ugly and green, and therefore named after Herman Munster from the '60s tv show. "Mini-Pearl" was going to be a miniature version of Mom's Maxima which she calls "Pearl." "Gilligan" was a play on words after "Gil" became "Mini-Pearl" and then became "Gil" again. "The Fauxbra" is a faux Cobra. I was told that Matador means Killer in Spanish so the AMC Matador is called "Killer." There's a "Honduh" out back of the shop that we all try to claim belongs to one of the other guys. "Johnny Turbo" became "Super Karate-Monkey Death-Car" for a while until John bought it back. I think it was to save it from that name. Well, that's all I can think of at the moment.

Ash, that is one of the funniest things I have read too. I will have to use that "EFTPOS" saying on some mates! haha My old Datto 1200 was called "The Datto!", pretty common. But everyone used it as a "haha, datto driver" slagging thing, until they saw it. This was when they didnt have a car and I did. Also by people who now own Dattos, whos having the last laugh?
My Ford XB Falcon ute was called "the XB". It just has that short to the point nature. Other Holden owners called it a chook tin etc but I showed them how it was done! (sideways and in a straight line)
My new ute is still unamed because I am thinking of a wicked title. It has been (affectionatly?) nicknamed the Batmobile because of the V8 Supercar rear wing, but that sucks for a name. The ute is black, lowered and has a body kit and 18"s, I was gonna go with Black Betty but that was taken by another XR8 owner. I was thinking "Jet" as in Jet Black and jet plane rear wing. I dunno, gonna give the name some thought.
My 2 cents.
Simon

refer to my ute as "my baby no. 3" no. 1=my girlfriend no. 2=my yz400f although, once the ute is going, it'll probably jump up the rankings a bit!!!

I don't have a name for it, but others refer to it as The Pickle. My old orange 1200 was The Pumpkin. The Mazda B2000 is MazdaMania.

My red 1000 ute is called ROXY I made a datsun emblem in Photoshop and laid in the name into it then printed it to scale and placed it under the perspex half dome in the middle of the steering wheel - looks good! My engineering friends have a policy of having their drunken friends name their cars hence their Laser is Jemima and the Hilux is called Uterus. makes for something to do when you get drunk with your mates tho (except if they call it Mighty Boy of course!)
