The use of these seats would preclude access to the rear of a coupe, which may not be a problem, but if this is a road car, & it is rear-ended, & the ADR [Australian Design Rules] say that your car should have head rests, then your insurer may well wipe you like a dirty ar$e. You may also find yourself paying the medical bills too.

Whiplash injuries [that headrests were designed to minimise] can cost a bundle.

the first ute i owned years ago i had the interior retrimmed (by high tone in Riverstone i think) did a great job and i used the original seats with the head rests removed.
we padded out the sides for a little extra support, but the reason i chose to stay with the original seats was, ease of fitment, still heaps of space left, and strength. i was told that they were stronger than alot of "cheap" aftermarket seats.
they ended up looking great- so good in fact that some prick stole the car
to this day i still check out any utes interior for my seats...

I have some low back seats from a 1200 sedan that I wrecked, but I think that its I am a bit far away for you to get them!

what about original Datsun 1200 seats? The headrests are removable.

Most sporty seats have headrests, and all modern seats do. So you might have to go to an old seat to get one without.
