I had modified mine like that cut away part of the original cover I had. The proplem being that its not strong enough and will flex over time the cam angle sensor drive will break this happened to me at Oran park for datsun nationals. Timing was all over the place at Idle retarded under load and advanced when backing off. The RB25-26 have a bracket that can do away with the cover all together good luck finding one.
It does look good and is supposed to keep the belts a bit cooler??? dont know if they would get too hot anyway.
