Good to see in the latest Unique Cars magazine that the good old dattos are mentioned in the "Bathurst Beauties" main article. Good to see the dattos arent forgotten and thier racing pedigere is in a current mag. I guess some of the members on here would remeber the flocks of dattos screaming round bathurst in the 60s. pitty the 1200 didnt get a mention in the mag, but i guess thier bathurst history is little if any?
Mag Qoute :
DATSUN 1000: lightness and durability gave the 1000 a pair of class A wins during the late 1960s. The cute little coupe wasnt raced, is pretties than the sedan and alot easier to find.
DATSUN 1600: these boxy little sedans wwere pretty hot stuff in 1968, with talk of specially prepared cars hitting 160km on the Conrod straight and winning thier class until 1970. Early dattos with Clap hands wipers are twice the price of later models.

Just thought i would share the article with you all
