Are you using the stock carby?
check fuel float level (must be somewhere on the middle of the glass)
if thats fine, check mixture, idle

if thats fine check your points... I know you said this is fine but double check them anyway.
how about the rotor button? worn? replaced it then

I really do appreciate the advice, please dont think that i thought you thought of me as an idiot. i realize you were sort of speaking out loud. nor am I trying to imply that your not inteligent, it's just that we can all make a mistake now and again, or get sidetracked or distractracted.
IF all else fails, go back to the basics, is the point gap correct? are the valves properly adjusted? is the timing at the correct setting? ETC.
I have, over the years seen where valves are ourt of adjustment, and they will be tight, as in keeping some or all of the valves partially open. intake valves are prone to do this on A series engines and the exhaust valves will be loose.
all any of us are trying to do is offer suggestions that might help, please don't take it personal.

Besides, the plugs being black,,,,,,any traces of water/moisture on them?

swap these two plugs to a different cylinder to check if the miss goes with them or stays with 2 & 4

Don't take it personally ... I've misrouted the spark plug wires many times myself. It has nothing to do with calling someone an idiot.

i didnt swap those around im not an idiot i cable tied them well enough in a position i wouldnt get them confused. The car ran PERFECTLY this morning after we changed the spark plugs with the old ones again. But for some reason its ####ing up again.

I think the deposits on the distributor cap may have given me a false reading when i was tuning the carby??? I will check to see if they are all fouled up this time.

It wasnt running poorly it was most certainly running on two pistons yesterday.

I see your point. He put new plugs in, and it ran good for some time, but gradually got worse.
