As I said! in the rear, close to the shifter!
I'm going to cut out the tunnel of my spare 1200. I'm going to weld it in more backwards, so I will win some space.
For better understanding, imagine slidding the hole tunnel 15 cm to the rear, and fill up the space created between the firewall and the tunel with the spare tunnel.
Should be perfect fit. Anyway, I'm going to take pictures soon.

I lied the tunnel did need mods around the rear of the tunnel where the shifter is I had to box it out. You will also have to remove the inside original gearbox mounting brakets. The engine does sit low 30mm lower than i had originally fitted it all. illgo up and take some pics tonight.

Pics would be good, how low have you actually mounted your engine to fit a S13 box in a man coupe without mods, I thought the very least you had to do was a bit of hammering for it to fit.

Im pretty sure the main difference is in the width looking at a auto tunnel its a lot wider from the front.
The height looks much the same Im using a S13 5 speed with a manual tunnel (in a coupe) it has heaps of clearance!!! the most important thing is to get the engine as low as possible for this to happen. If it sits high the large gearbox will hit.
Ill take some pics of mine soon and show you what I meen.

Hi firends,

Wonder where the differnce between an automatic and manuel transmission tunnel is?
I suppose the firewall opening is the same, and that the difference is more at the rear, in front of the shifter hole! Right?

Tia
