With the A15 I beat lots and lots of cars. I beat brand new V6 Mustangs, lots of assorted Hondas and Toyotas and Mitsubishis. I beat an Audi TT on the freeway once starting from about 70mph. A few cars I raced but did not beat was a 1994 Nissan Sentra SE-R, V8 Mustangs/Camaros, and a newer Lotus Esprit TT. All soon to change though

Well I can usually beat EAs and VNs off the line( both 6 cyc), but after about 100m they fly past. Its funny to look at them when they go past and think, that wasnt supposed to happen. A12s just dont have the torque or the legs to go the distance.

Hey guys I can finally post something in here now. Got my ute back from the tuner, I raced an S15 with exhaust last night and smashed it even though I spun through second and the begining of third. My ute pulls now. It's awesome fun...

From my experience, about the only way you can kill an "A" series bottom end is to remove the sump plug first.

I blew my bottom end on my mildly tuned A-12 at about 6500rpm +- 140km/h
no.4 conrod bolts came loose and you can guess what happened next

There is no such thing as an opinion when talking about Ferraris Woody. Love them or hate them, you have to respect them for their prestige and fine cars they make. I do not think you would be complaining if you were fortunate enough to own one. They did not get their good name, become famous and be sought after for being #### cars. I agree that alot of European cars are a toss but you have to understand why you think this before you start mouthing off. Is it jealousy? Is it the people that drive the cars you just hate? Most modded (CA, SR powered etc) Datto's will beat alot of STANDARD Ferraris but which one turns more heads and sounds wicked. The Ferrari will win every time. That does not mean Dattos are #### either. As a owner of a rare and sought after vehicle in your ute you must understand why Ferraris are like they are and have a following. The price is just on a much larger scale. Just be thankful that Datsuns are more accessible for us and enjoy them.

I once had a brand new black Monaro CV8R ( I didnt know there was such a car),with stupid personalised plates try and overtake me on the inside from the lights .He looked really ####ty when the 1000 coupe beat him to the parked cars and he had to slam on the brakes.
I guess he never thought that was going to happen.

Welcome Melissa,I have to agree with your comments about driving pleasure.
My hotted up datsun is a noisy pig to drive and probably a menace to the general public, but my stock one is one sweet ride, very relaxing and more people give you the thumbs up.

the engine was tired anyway and one of the rings lets go, presserised the sump and pumped the little amount of oil there was out.
when i stripped it i found some bearing were stuffed. prob my fault i was not the brightist back then. young dumb and too much money. my dad was very un- impressed.
anyway reassembled with ballanced crank (to remove groves) new ring and bearings and then traded for a Mk 3 GT Cortina.( blew that up as well)
