To cert. Monty with all the mods that I am going to, will only cost the same if I only put a turbo on or if I put in the A14 efi and SC, plus the up graded brakes rims.......... blah blah the list goes on. It shouldnt matter if you get it cert'ed for one mod or 1 million mods. Well thats what my local cert guy told me.
Brock just put in that A14 and turbo!!!!!!
Also you are running 14' with or without spacers???

Dude, here's the score. You are gonna have to get it certified , right? Well an A14 weighs buggar all more than an A12. The speed limit is still only 50kph/60/70/80 or 100. As long as the car can still manage four stops from 100kph in a one minute period. (and I assume within a reasonable distance). then thats all thats required . Get the ute crossmember, it will bolt straight in, and apart from people who know the difference, none will be able to tell it's not original. If you're gonna get it certified, you may as well pay the wee bit extra and get the bigger motor certed aswell. If the car can meet the criteria to pass cert for a turbo, then the lager motor is just a formality.
JUST DO IT!!!!!! How much more convincing will it take?

Yeah, but that would cost more to certify. Turbo and larger engine than standard and if you use plates then also x-member modification. The A12 turbo would only be one issue. I wouldn't need better brakes would I in my coupe?

but you dont have to modify the crossmember to fit an A14. You just make little plates that put the engine in the correct position. Completely reversable.

I would rather keep the standard x-member and engine even though it is going turbo. A12T has a nice ring to it too.

Dude, get Damon's Xmember, and soup up (maybe even turbo) the A14. Keep all the original stuff so you can return it to original if you grow out of going fast. And remeber,.........
