a turbo may not be making boost at 2000RPM, but it is still starting to spin, where as if you have a supercharger that is switched off, not alot of air will be going through those impellors

the blower has to be swtiched on all the time, only disengaging at idle - hence the magnetic clutch. it's not a toy like a MAD MAX style setup - that sh1t just doesn't work.

you'd get better results putting a stocking over your carby vs an idle supercharger.

if you run it like it's designed to be, you won't have any troubles. it coughing and spluttering because it's choking for air.

what has been done in the way of ECU and tuning for the two very different requirements when the blower is on and off?

I suspect its just been tuned with the blower switched on? If so, it will be running way too rich and not enough ignition timing for NA running with the blower switched off.

What computer system are you running? I've thought about this swap recently and wondered how it would go... I think it's great that somebody actually tried it. The fact that it was done in a datto is even better!

hi guys . ive just got my 1200 coupe moving and im having a few problems. ive got a ca18des in it . . .yup a des. i ripped off the turbo and super charged it! i used a toyota 1ggze blower so i can turn it off when not needed. the problem im having is only when im running it in natural. it runs fine untill about 2000rpm when it just starts missing and spluttering.ive rulled out the blower restricting flow to much because the air going through it spins it.any ideas would be great.on the other side it hauls ass when the super charger is on i have trouble stoping the wheels spinning in 3rd and i havent had it in 4th yet.
