Finally i got it going, and broke something

3rd gear exited stage left this morning

i was suspicious of third as it was hard to select and making noise anyway

but this morning she gave up,
so yep, it was the gearbox, 3rd gear only so far, still driving it as a 3 speed

im very impressed at the strength of these boxes, i think it's all about the condition it's in and have no doubt a good condition one would survive a decent flogging still

though, i've ordered my clutch so now just have to get a tailshaft made so i can slot in the dellow conversion celica 5spd, that baby aint breaking!

hmmm, may be time to start looking for a fuel only computer for that efi manifold of yours 1200rc.... put an end to all the carby woes.

i still plan to take it on the quarter but its not a huge priority

more intrested in a drfit practice night

i got the celica box so i might wait till i get a tailshaft made and put that in, the exrta grip would kill the a-series box for sure

the fuel bowl on the carby has cracked down the side of it, i cant see why, but a change of carby is on the list of things to do tomorrow as fuel is going everywhere

Not trying to wind you up, I was refering to by comparison the a supercharged engine. I had full boost whenever I booted it. Even as low as 1000 rpms.

I tip 2nd gear will be the one to go.

rally have u got any plans to test it on the 1/4 anytime soon?

im itching to see what times its capable of... and im sure a few other members would be too

it hits full boost @ 2500 rpm and stays on full boost to as high as i like to rev it, which has ben over 7000, and the turbos arnt working hard either as i drove 15km up a mountain driving hard under boost the whole way and at the top only one turbo was slightly glowing

and at the end of the day it keeps up with $60,000 sports cars

oh and im not trying to break anything but i always drive it hard

Just as I suspected, with a welded centre your patience would be the first thing to go.
I would rather walk to the shops than drive that car of mine when it had a locked diff, it was a real pig around town.
