Hey Dave, yeah I'm going to build one unique A15 that's for sure. I always thought they'd be perfect for turbocharging. I really thought about using the quad DCOE style throttle bodies, but
couldn't touch a setup for less than like $2000 if not more. Of course, after I made that decision I came across a used setup for $1000 (not including manifold). The 82-83 Turbo 280Z's used
the same type of manifold/efi setup as this so I figured this design should hold up. Of course mods have to be made for this stock EFI setup to flow good with the Turbo, which is why I will be
sending it to be Extrude Honed after I port it out a bit. The stock throttle body uses two small butterflies, which will be the bottleneck for performance. I'll toss this throttle body, and
grind out that part of the manifold, I'll fit an adapter plate to mount any kind of larger throttle body I find suitable with a single LARGE butterfly (maybe big throat Z TB?). If it turns out
that the modified stock EFI setup doesn't work too well I may go for the other type of setup that you're talking about. I already got rid of all the emissions junk (EGR valve, vaccuum lines),
and plugged up all the holes. I also will not be using the water circulation it has. Basically it's just a manifold, throttle body, and injectors, flowing only air/fuel, with nothing else
besides the sensors that the Haltech F9 ECU comes with. I will be using a stock A15 crank and rods, but I'll make sure they are treated right at the engine shop. I think they'll be strong
enough to hold up to that little turbo. However, I want to make sure that the combustion chamber is bullet proof, so I'll go with some forged slugs, Total Seal Rings, stainless valves, and ARP
studs/bolts. I may have the thermal coating stuff put on the valves/pistons, but not too sure yet. I kinda figure it will be more bullet proof than the Subaru engine the turbo came off of. And
even though I'll up the boost (maybe 10), it should be strong enought to handle it. Like I said, most of this isn't going down for like a year, after I graduate from college, so I have a lot
of planning/dreaming time ahead of me yet. It doesn't hurt to start thinking about it now so I know exactly what I need, and what I have to do. Talk to ya later!

Hey Andy! Sounds like your going to build a serious A15!! I would be interested in the results for sure. I've thought about turboing an A15/14 before but i wouldnt have used the
standard EFI manifold as they arnt designed to carry pressured air and wouldnt flow as well(my thoughts anyway). I would have gone the full quad throttle bodys and all new pipe work.
But, im sure it will hoon anyway u do it. I would be guessing around 180-200hp??? but thats a guess! Would u use the A15 crank or the A14 crank?

CYA

I just got a fuel injection setup in the mail from a fellow Australian member...thank you for sending it! I think there still may be pics of it in the photo section. Anyways, after taking a
closer look at it, it looks exactly like the fuel injection on 280Z's, except for a four cylinder. I'm excited to have this setup and I started cleaning and polishing it up yesterday, it's
going to turn out nice! When I get money I'm going to send it to be Extrude Honed to get this baby ready for forced induction. I think 280Z injectors will bolt right in when it's time for the
turbo. My plan is to buy another 1200 (auto) that is in good shape. I'll basically restore it and give it a nice paint job. Then I'll buy another A15 that I will buildup. I'll rebuild,
balance, O-ring the engine, then I will build an awesome head for it that I've been scavenging parts for. I've got oversize stainless steel valves, NISMO head gasket, dual valve springs/
aluminum retainers, and I'll be getting roller rockers and bronze valve guides as well. The turbo I have is from an 85 Subaru, I took it apart last night and it looks great. Does anybody know
how much boost this turbo can produce? It seems like a pretty small turbo, but it's got a great blade design and looks really efficient. I also got an intercooler from a Volvo. I want to put
about 10-15 lbs of boost on the A15. Think it will hold up? I just wanted to share my plans with all you guys. Will I have the first fuel injected intercooled turbo A15 in a 1200 coupe? How
much power will this thing put out? See ya
