Neither of these engines has a 'better' oiling sysyem, as both are virtually identical in the lubrication department, but the method of passing oil into the head for the rockers is slightly diferent. I don't know where you get your info from, but maybee you should start reading a few good workshop manuals, & stop listening to rumors.

I suggest that you use the later engine, the one with the distributor well back, as these engines have been manufactured with provision to mount an airconditioning compressor on the left side. These holes make an ideal place to mount a supercharger. The only downside is the proximity to the exhaust, but keep the mounting low & you should be fine.

I got 2 A12s and want to mount a blower on one. but they are diffrent and i dont know which one to rebuild. 1 is out of my 72 dat 1200 and the dizy is at the front.the other is about half way which one is best?????
