Great engine very realiable but it weighs almost trice what an L20 does with its cast iron head and 10 inch thick block
stick to nissan like harry says they are almost a factory fit with the right info which has been supplied by him.

you'd be much better off using a Datsun L16 or L18 engine. You'll save yourself alot of money on the fabrication costs as a 180B x-member bolts in. And the L series is a much better base for modifying. There's alot of info about the conversion here - see what the search function finds for you.

no idea on engine mounts. never done such a conversion. could be $5 if you make them yourself out of scrap or $5000 if you pay someone to make them out of magnesium.

sounds like the good ol' 18R.

and it will fit into a 120Y with a "few" mods (engine mounts, gearbox muonts etc etc). not the most sporty of engines, but like the 2.0L MA mazda engines, they have a good amount of torque on tap and are very reliable.

a cam, carb and an exhaust should see pretty good performance in 120Y.
