hey thanks, its for a 120y rally car, so centre of gravity is important, nice an low. the car is away at the moment so ui was tryin to be smart and took some runners out of some wrecks we've got,(drivers side from a manual and passenger side from an auto) so i could mount the seats on the runners while the car wasn't here. methinks i'll wait til' the car gets back.

I was doing exactly the same thing today.

I am now an expert in 120Y mounts. ssshhh, don't tell anybody.

I think both are the same. (auto vs. manual) The mounts differ in that the trailing mounts, which are mounted on the tunnel side, are higher by 3/4 inch. I just got some Sparcos and I had to redrill/elongate the front hole on the mount to bolt the mounts to the seats.

I'll be doing the 1200 side of things this coming weekend. It doesn't look too hard. The new seats are quite low profile, and need to be mounted higher to bring them up to near standard seat height.

It's great. as the seats are mounted higher, they'll easily clear the retractable seatbelts at the base of the pillar.

The new seats cost AU$1000/pr, but I'll save days in work mounting the seats, if I was to get some second hand import seats. I used to have import seats. I was never happy with the way they fitted. And the mounts were horrible looking.

So Mr turbo-b20..look at the height of the seat, you might find the higher mount is better for you too..So make up a spacer for the other side.

Cheers

Can anyone tell me if manual and auto 120y's have different seat mounts, I'm trying to make the runners fit onto some racing seats and the passenger side runners are offset, as in one side is mounted lower then the other. Is this the same on the manuals cos if it is i'm in trouble
