yeah, you're right andrew. its only a number, but i don't love the way it drives...

i base it on the first time i drove Cam Mckinnon's SR20DET 1600. that thing was an animal. driving through the city, taking off from the lights without getting wheelspin was an effort! thats because of the way the tune was setup. nice and simple, plenty of timing in the computer down low and just the K constant being modified (i'm sure there's a bit more to it...) my fuel maps were played with but not the timing which is where a lot of the "good feeling" instant power can be made. with my car as it is, i don't really get wheelspin by just flooring it and revving it out.

long story, but i'm investigating into some better response.

i'm heading up to datnats on the friday morning so i probably won't catch any of the friday praccy day. i'd love to see your coupe and grab a ride... are you gonna hang around much of the evening?

Dissapointed with 168rwkw @12psi??? Man i would be cheering after all its only a number!!! The proof is in the driving.
After my last dyno tuning session the 1200 made just over 150rwkw with 18psi on avgas I was dissapointed as I had the car runing 190rwkw on pump fuel at another dyno tuning shop. After driving my car fast this last weekend at the track its definatly making more power now!!! So as i said its only a number dont be too dissapointed all dynoes read diffrent and lots of figures are thrown around especially on the internet. Like yeah mate my fully sick honda with exhaust and filter is making over 200 ect ect. Are you going to the practice day?? at wakefield Im going to put a passenger seat back into my car with some harnesses. So a few joyrides might be had

it showed potential in traffic the other day, but was a bit tight with the traffic to really open her up hey,
and that was before the tune,

the tyres were screaming for mercy then
planning on slicks or anything stickier for calder? hows the suspension hold up on lauches also?

thanks ange, i'm trying to get all the datsuns i know down to calder.

i work it out as about 240kw at the flywheel, using a 30% drivetrain loss theory.

the new LS2 R8 has 298kw at the flywheel and i reckon it'd weigh in at about 1600kg giving it about five and a bit kilograms per kw. the wags has about 3.75 kilo's per kw, so it sure is a bit of fun!

hoping for a low twelve out of her... we'll see

the wagon of Lag went on the dyno today for the first stage of tuning. It runs the standard nissan ECU, remapped for 444cc GTR injectors and a Z32 AFM. i only had time for a couple of hours of dyno time, and managed to squeeze 168kwatw at 12 psi. after playing around we got the same figure, with a bit less timing and more fuel, just for safety as i don't want to be breaking down in goulbourne!

to be honest i was a bit dissapointed, but hopefully there is enough tuning scope and boost pressure available to get me well past the 180 mark. i'm taking it to the drags at calder on april first, it'll have another tune before then. it'll definately have more psi by then!
