No...

RB26DETT

now we have.

Shame the 1200 isnt fwd then we could talk about one engine in the front and one in the back. I want to put 2 twin turbo H22's in my civic... that would be fast.

gooooooooo...........rotary!

come on, no one has said it yet. I suppose it was done to death a while ago. But i still remember a couple of years ago seeing a coupe with a stock 13bt spanking (really hard spanking) a WRX, whilst spinning the wheels into 5th gear. That memory will live with me forever, ha. Car sold for 2g's too.

What about the V6 that they stuffed in the early model GT Capri?........ That's a pretty small car....... Was that a Buick?

Buick is a division of General Motors & the alloy V8 design was sold to Rover, a move that i'm sure that they regret to this day. Buick did in fact produce a V6, but it is like other American V6's, it's made of iron & a bit big & heavy for little Datsun 1200's, although it must be remembered that there is a 120Y out there on the street with a 308 Holden V8 in front of its uncut firewall. Amazing.

I believe that the 60 degree V6 that was found in the Capri was a German Ford engine. Something in the back of my gray matter tels me it had a Herron head design. Can anyone confirm?

why go the V6 surely if "bullet cars" in brisbane can fit a 4ltr lexus v8 supercharged into a MX5 it would go close to fitting a 1200

what about a landrover v8?? They're small and alloy aswell aren't they??

The Rover V8 is a good engine [because it's a rebadged 1963 Buick F85 engine,... really] but its a V8 & the question is about V6's It's also long,.. too long.

The Daimler 2.5 V8 is an old design with a cast iron block & possibly even iron heads. They are big & heavy for a miniscule 2.5 litre engine. I'm also told that they are not a particularly good design. They are not a V6 either. The FJ & SR 2 litre engines would blow it out of the water with one plug removed.

The V6 Chev was a very popular swap a few years back & there's a half finished Chev LUV stepside pickup with one just up the road. These are an iron engine, so it would be a bit heavy, with [i think] a rear sump which would mess with the Datsun steering.

The Chrysler V6 [shortened 318 V8] would also be a bit big & heavy.

About the only upside to these two is that they are rear drive engines with a ton of go-fast stuff available.

Maybee the Mazda is worth a look. Take your tape measure & digital camera. Take LOTS of pictures.
