The heavier the chain the better. It works great. I had an axle twist inside the diff and the ionly way to straighten it and have it come out was a bunch of big fat mates and one mother of a chain. Fixed the car drove down the street and the U bolts were loose from all of the "chaining"

get a length of chain about a meter long.
put each end onto a stud
put wheel nuts onto those studs, so the chain can't come off
wack the loop of chain with a length of steel pipe...

I have a 13" wheel I use...but there is one that still wont come out...Im afraid it will have to be a slide hammer job.

Turn the drum into a slide hammer.

Put the drum on backwards.
Do the wheelnuts up until they are "full"

Slide the drum out quickly. . .

How can i pull the rear axle shaft without a sliding hammer?
