Try talking to the TAFE colledge, they used to have a test bed for I think training purposes.
One of my old customers was doing the same to an old Holden and ended up making his own.

Plain and simple - Engineering Signatory. Dont listen to anyone elses " I heard, My Mate, My neighbour, Not even my mechanic" stories. QLD transport will give you a list of who you can see.

There are two very important words that you should paint on the wall of your workshop where you plan to do this.

ENGINEERS REPORT

This is the person who will say if the project sinks or swims. If the structural rigidity of the shell matches, or excedes the coupe shell, then you shouldn't have too much drama, but an X member type chassis structure might be needed to do it.

hi everyone.
ok i have have 2 1200 coups..1 is a nice street car and will be driven every day...my other is a 1200 coupe waiting for a full rebuild...im a panel beater/painter by trade so doing the work isnt hard...but does anyone know the laws for cutting the roof off a datto 1200 coupe and turning it into a convertible.
iv seen 4 of them but never looked to hard at what have been done with the bub frame or structual mods.
they dont have common rails like most cars so iv been told you can make a sub frame in the floor area and then make a rool cage or hoops...but this is where im stuck...of looked on the QLD transport website and there is nothing....i did a search on here and nothing again.

can someone help or help me in the right direction.
all help is greatly appriceated.

scott
