I found a pic of the vents I was talking about. Personally I don't like bonnet scoops on in-line engines as you know they don't line up with the carb so look a bit weird. If you like them check the web side as there are moreOpen in new window

i bought a 1200 ute abouts 9 months ago with a motor half stripped down and a delortto side draught on it and the air cleaner and housing was siliconed on. talk about being bodgee! after rebuilding the engine i tried to at least bolt it on but the bolts would have been hard up against the shock tower so i made amy own housing out of 100x50mm alloy tube and 100x6mm flat alloy bar. looks good and gets the intake air away from the extractors.

Neil - that is a seriously wide 1K!!! What motor/driveline are you running? What times has she put down at various tracks?

Unfortunately I have had to fit 2 Cosworth style vents to my CA powered 1200 race car to remove heat from the engine bay. I really don't like them but with a big turbo motor in such a small engine bay I really didn't have a choice.
