The designers at Datsun stuffed up on the 180B coupe i reckon, the rear is really nice looking but the front end just dont look good ! The black grill blends in too much with the headlight surrounds..
Maybe if it was chrome or a differnt colour it would look better!
Stick with the 120y coupe dude, will age better and the end results will be better in the long run i is thinking! And plus you get to stick with the A series !!

Just my 2c's ....

ok so i've been thinking and i'm developing some plans....

i'm now opening my possibilities to a 4-door 120Y as well....

so basically any 120Y (apart from fastback coupe) or a 180B coupe.....in reasonable nick....able to be gotten to taree on the mid north coast....for a reasonable price.....lol

There's a pretty rough one on Ebay at the moment for $850. Might be worth a look?

there's a 180b coupe for sale on www.datnet.org...

180B Coupe.
All original low kms

Very minor rust in lower LH rear quarter.
Suspected blown head gasket.
Unregistered
Located near Liverpool

This car would make an excellent project.

$2000

i must agree the 120Y does have great handling....i can drive it better than the new commodores...lol

reason i'm after my own datto is my mums hits vintage next year and we're going to do it up a bit (needs a little attention after 30 years...lol) and i want to have my own to work on beside it.....

i was also looking around and found the 180B coupes looked rather nice as well....so i'll add that to my option list....lol

This one is very nice

Well I can vouch for my sedan having way better handling than a 1200 ute. Driven a few 1200 utes and the ar-se is soooo light. Fun though. Just not when you want to do some serious cornering. The 120y would be the same I suspect if it too had a ute variant.

I agree 120Y's have to be about the ugliest datsuns ever, look like a boat. I still reckon they're a cool car though (handling in 120Y was WAY better than 1200 ute!)
