I don't mind talk about Holdens, just don't mention GM

I think two Hitachis will run quite well, and be superior to one Hitachi. The only question is how much superior? A little or a lot?

I would have thought this would run really well if jetted right. Holden used two downdraught strombergs on the X2 motors. They really only had the twin carbs, a light cam & headers but were vastly superior to the standard engine. Mind you, very few people could tune them properly. Sorry to talk about holdens. I know it is upsetting for some.

We mean one intake manifold, two carburetors. That should give you more high-RPM power!

A plenum is the area the carbs feed into, and then the runner go out of the plenum. Fuel injection often has a large plenum while carbureted cars usually have a small plenum.

Maybe you should try and combine the carburettors onto a plenum. This way the flow is decreased through the carb but it will still 'draw' 100% of the time

took the words right out of my mouth, er.. keyboard.

I was contemplating doing this today as I found a 2nd carb in the boot of my parts car & stupid fabriaction is a hobby of mine.

Logic got the better of me though & I'll just make the adaptor plate for the 350 holley & run that till the blower goes on to blow thru it.

i suppose it'll work ok, you're using 2 small carbs on a bigger engine, so flow wise it should look the same. Mixture should be more or less right. I don't know how you'd change it on a stock carb anyways.

The only reason to do this is you've got a pile of stock carbs and a welder and you want an adventure.

you'll have to make an aircleaner setup too.

I say do it, you'll learn lots. maybe why not to do it, but you'll have learnt something.
