I added an Automatic Boot Opener on my old 1200, so i didnt have to worry about keys, i just ran a bit of wire around the side of the boot and under the carpet to the edge of the drivers seat with a handle and hey presto pull the handle and the boot opened, lol

How can you ever break the bonnet release cables twice.

You need to stop eating your weet-bix before you open it.

The cig lighter lead sounds like a good idea if the need did arise oneday.

you can jumpstart the bonnet release

The jumpstart bit gives me images of someone trying to crank the car with this and then 2 cars ending up with fried wires.

This electric release sure beats half a bonnet cable out the grill like most 1200s

Make up a 3 metre cig lighter to cig lighter jumper cable. Keep it in your "toolkit".

Then if you have a flat battery, you can jumpstart the bonnet release.

Chris.

well yeah but, ive opened the bonnet without a release before, but i rekon there should be enough go in the battery to open the bonnet, and you can put power through the switch wires if you really have to.
