Well....the initial plan it to learn how to strip, check, clean and rebuild an A series engine. Once this is done I've got an A15 doing nothing.

I'll strip down that A15 check it out, put it back together and stuff in my 1200 coupe, for use as a circuit car.

A long way to go yet, but the fun but is a lot of learning to go too!

Appreciate the interest.

Well here it is on the stand. M8 (or 8mm) bolts did the trick.

I noticed there are only 4 bolt holes in the bell housing that goes through the other side. And these are the 4 I used.

Here's a picture.

I guess it depends on the engine stand too....the four arms (that the bolt go through) have an inside diameter of around 14mm...an M8 bolt has a 12mm head.

I'm going to try a washer type arrangement tonight, I'll take some pics if it actually works.

I have some 12.9 M8 bolt I managed to score from the store at work and a selection of washers...here's hoping they do the job.

Cool

Glad to hear someone else has done it the way I plan tomorrow night...

I'm just going to get some M8 bolts (the same as the ones that hold the bellhousing on.

I was just a little unsure it 4 x 8mm diameter bolts would be enough to hold up an engine. (Although a mech eng at work was telling me each M8 bolt should hold a few ton....so four should be no drama.

Here's where I'm taking pics of it all (the website is a bit crappy yet...one day I'll learn)

i just bought 4 longer bolts (same thread as the bellhousing bolts) with big washers and used the 2 top ones and one on either side of the back of the block...

Pretty strait forward really, just lining up the stand's arms is a barstad if only 1 person doing it!!

Good luck with it dude, tell us how it all pans out

Can someone share their experiece....

I'm going to put an A12 up on an engine stand tonight, but am not sure on the bolts to use (or really how to do it).

I know the flywheel and bellhousing bolt holes seem to be the most likely places I can attach to the engine stand.

Does anyone know the designation of the bolts in the flywheel (14mm head) and Bellhousing (12mm head)?
