cheers guys, thats great news.

personally i couldn't be bothered trying to fit a booster if its not necesarry

man, engineers suck, why do they have to be different. How does that work???

makes no sense to me. They should have a standard.

hope i dont have any problems.

cheers

I'm with Andrew on this. I don't run a booster on my CA18DET powered race car because I prefer the feel of unboosted brakes. I'm yet to be outbraked anywhere out at Queensland Raceway by any road registered car. Wasn't needed to engineer my car in QLD either.

All the cars I have had engineered were done by Richard at BP Coreen Ave Penrith. Never had a brake test done, cars ranging from turbo A15 1200's to Blown Chev454 58 Chevs to Chev350 T Buckets. Guess it comes down to Engineer wishes.
Blueslips have no brake test requirement, only Pinkslip require a print out

A booster dosnt make your brakes any better just a softer pedal not as much effort required to stop.
I personally dont like the feel of boosted brakes . When my datto was regeod the pedal was always nice and firm. Now with the bigger brakes and master cylinder its hard but has good feel you can stand on them pretty hard before they lock up. With a Ca18 and hydrylic clucth you will not have much room to fit anything either it can be done but afair bit of work required.
Phunk my engineer requested a braking test from diffrent speeds and also an emissions & noise test I remeber the brakes pulled 1.4 g's decel from 80kmh thats with the 10"honda vented and hilux 4 spots.

yeah disks are a must booster not required, yrou breaks only have to be able to stop with the new weight no new power, my engineer just looked over my car for my mod plate, but then as everyone says, every engineer is different

cheers

Engineer only cares what brakes you have, he wants to hear the magic words "disk front" and the only test he does is, go for a drive around the block to check overall car driveability. If it stops, he is happy.
Not even once you have the engineer papers and go for Blueslip do they check brakes.
Only for Pinkslip do brakes get tested in NSW.

it's surprising the engineer didn't insist on a booster before passing the car.most of them
want you to have on fitted.the 1000 i used to race had a 13/16's master cylinder (standard sunny),with stanza girlock calipers,& was quite light on the pedal.but, with a ca18 turbo in the
car,i bet you're going to get really good brakes, aren't you.so,if you can get a sunny, 120y or 180b booster,it would probably be an advantage.the problem is the 1200 only has 2 studs holding the master cylinder to the firewall.i seem to remember that the stanza had an alloy spacer which went between the booster & the firewall, maybe this could be adapted to suit.the other way is to find a la lancer coupe or sedan, which has an adaptor for bolting a brake booster to a 2 stud firewall.these are not easy to come by,however.

Boosters dont realy increase braking performance all they do is give you a softer pedal, Ask CA18det_man who doesnt run a booster in race car.
The engineers like to see them but by law all your car has to do is pass the brake test the engineer does on the vehicle
