Well iit tooks us (4 family members) 3 and a half hours just to get to the far top right of the state from Launceston (Mt. William National Park, great camping spot & on shore break for stuffing round ) and another 2ish to get to St Helens from there (mid east coast) I'd be saying no you couldn't do Tassie coasts in a day!

And plus most of the roads around the north east, south west (nothing in the south west really) and north west coasts are mainly dirt or gravel roads. They arent exactly highways!

Many rally tracks floating around Tassie i hear from people also....

Glad to see you all like it!
Dave

I think a rough loop of Tassie would be about 1000 km, but there would be no point in doing it in a day because you wouldnt be able to enjoy it, and it is really enjoyable.

Well, i have never been to Tasmania, but some wag told me that the whole place is so small that you can drive all the way around the coastline in a day on a single tankfull of fuel. Surely that can't be right.
Is there any truth in that?

Hell, I drove back from Adelade [about 900 miles/ 1300k from memory] in a single day last year driving my stock 200B while towing a trailer. I kinda like the long drives, I just like to kroooooze.

I know this is a bit off the topic, but I just spent four days in Tasmania and I think you guys have been holding out on the rest of us.

It was one of the the most beautiful places I have ever been,

I drove past my dream house every five minutes ,in some places every sixty seconds.

If I could get a job there and talk my wife into it, I would be moving to Tassie tommorrow.

You lucky bastards.

Righto then keep the same date... We would really need to plan ahead for such a trip! I just had a great image of the coupe X2, toms ute, the cherry , the wagon, nicks ute etc. all in a convoy down to Hobart!! What a sight!!

agr012, is there a big Datsun scene down in hobart/south that you know of? In the summer holidays we should organise a state meet in Hobart or midway etc. im thinking...

Cant wait till the 2nd!

Dave

good to hear Tom, get the beast back on the road

Hi all I think we should still keep the date for our datto meet, so we can get together and catch up on things.
Anyway I got my entry number/sticker from Shannons the other day and have a guess what entry number I am??????

Yep thats right number 120.
I couldn't believe my luck.
I will grab some photo's of the day and show you guy's for the next meet we have.

Oh and I am very sad to here that you bent up your 120y Tom.
I did a similar thing to my old burgundy 120y coupe that I have but all I bent was the drivers side Tierod end, and I wasn't very far from home so I was able to walk home and grab another one and go back and fix it, so I could drive it home again.
Anyway talk to you all real soon sunday 2nd 12pm inveresk. CAN'T WAIT.
