thanks for the information guys. Converted did say the head was a JTS item but I just thought that it was a race spec head and had no idea what was different about it so I didn't bother asking....till now cheers for the radiator info too that will be a big help in helping me sort the hoses out. If I use a twin weber manifold will the headers definateley clear the intake? and can someone tell me if the distributor used in an A12 is the same as the distributor used in an A15?

If your exhaust manifold doesnt fit, contact John Taylor and find out what system he recomends because maybe he built the motor to suit a particular exhaust system.

I would be contacting Jeff Taylor for motor etc. John Taylor for suspension. 2 brothers with different knowledge and phone numbers

the water pump will physically fit, though i have noticed the a12 uses a different blade design, and as to the difference in performance i am unsure

when your doing your cooling system there is a couple of different temprature thermostats available, i always go for the lower 76 odd degrees one instead of the 86 odd degrees one (just a random point that popped into my head)

gemini radiator is good, i think i used a 91mdl excel top hose for this and stock 1200 bottom hose

the extractors should work as unfam said you may need to grind inlet a tiny bit if using stock manifold (but i would bank on em fitting)

you may need to tweak your engine mounts for the a15, check my photo gallery for "mounting block diagram" making two of these plates (possibly weld them to your existing mounts or just bolt on) is a simple way to get around it

The head is a John Taylor Special I would imagine. I would have thought any info you needed could be provided by converted. If your exhaust manifold doesnt fit, contact John Taylor and find out what system he recomends because maybe he built the motor to suit a particular exhaust system.

Thanks for that, the head is a JTS item (what ever that is ) I had a search on the net and it came up with an alfa romao JTS model which I am guessing has nothing to do with the head on the A15 I think JTS is an engine building company. What would be the best extractors to use if my current SWM ones don't fit

ute doors wont fit the coupe... only coupe doors do.
as for parts interchangeability... starter motor fit and works fine, as does flywheel and depending on which gx head you have the extractors may fit... just with the assistance of an angle grinder to trim the excess off so the inlet manifold will go on as well.

best radiators for a15... gemini or n14 pulsar... im looking at a sigma one now though and it may just fit uder the bonnet ... its pretty tall. Also have a ae86 raditor in the shed but looks very thin ...

Hi I have some parts that bought for my A12GX but decided to abandon the A12GX and instead bought converted's A15 race engine. I have a brand spankers water pump, mandrel bent extractors from SWM, timing chain, timing chain tensioner and both crank and cam sprockets also from SWM, will these parts fit the A15?. Also will an A12 starter motor fit an A15 and what radiator would be best suited to the engine in a 1200 coupe?. Also while I am asking do 1200 ute doors or any other doors fit the coupes? my little piece of metal near the hinge broke off my drivers door and now strong winds have managed to snatch the door from me and bend it right back about 110 degrees 3 times in a week
