We dont know where you live, but I live in California and a 210 definitely falls under smog inspection, so that might be a consideration as well.

There's good information on the left side of the page under TECH SECTION. There is also a Yahoo 210 group where a lot of folks hot-rod their A14 and A15 motors.

Here's the link to the Yahoo group:

if you really want it...
you need a light aluminum v6, auto trans and something like a ford 9" rear end.

get busy with the plasma cutter, chop out enough of the firewall and trans tunnel to clear the engine and tranny. keep in mind to make room for the exhaust...

if you make it far enough to fit the engine and transmission, then modifying the rear end and getting a short drive shaft are easy.

people have put v6's in 210's before it's easier with a 510 and 240,260,280z's have a kit for a SBC

if the engine fits between the frame rails then you can put it in if you really want to.

learn to do this stuff yourself, you won't like paying someone else to do something like this.

The V8 would be a lot of trouble ....... there are other means of bringing out little horses than a V8. even in an A14
. Yes I did own a 79 210 5- door wagon last year , which was in exceptional shape. I had a 78 B-210 GX engine in it & it would takeout the mail. till it got totaled out.

There are Datsuns with V8s in them, it wouldnt be a bolt in by any means.

It would help if you good at cutting and welding.

This is an international club, based in Portugal, so it's usually a good idea to include some basic location information in your profile.
Having said that, with a model 210 [B310] and your steriotypical desire to shove a Chevy V8 in it, I suppose you are an American. It's just too bloody obvious.

No, the Chevy will not bolt right up and we find that much more satisfactory performance upgrades are done with more recent Nissan four cylinder models, with figures of 400hp being achieveable if you really want to get that silly in a car that small and light.

Have a look through the tech section to get some ideas of what others have done.

hey, i was looking for a datsun forum and this is the one i found.... so here is my question. I have a datsun 210 either the B or D, im not sure, (wagon style) and the motor is starting to go out, so i was wondering if anybody knew if any other more powerful motors would bolt right up? I was kind of wondering if a chevy 350 might bolt up for any reason.......(kind of strange, but its something i want to do) If anybody knows let me know!
