yes I should have....

However... I should be soon well versed on B310's (Sunnys) as well as B210's (120Y's here in australia the uk and europe)

As I have just been given a A14/F4w60L Sunny!

after month and months of searching for an A14/A15 and being told "they are too old/No we don't have any" - !!JACKPOT!!

All RHD models..he probably should have said.

We all know the LHD 1200 in the states uses a hydraulic clutch on all it's manual gearbox models.

Cheers,
Chris

judging by the engine bay pic I'd say it's has a 63A gearbox in it.... as it looks like it has a hydraulic clutch...

and the 63A is the only A series gearbox that has a hydraulic clutch... 56a, 60A, and 60L 4& 5 speed are all cable...

not true, here in Portugal we dont have cable clutch, the datsuns sold here are all hidraulic.

The only dato i see with cable came from africa MO

I laughed for about 5 seconds when I first saw the photos.

I think we all did, personally I was expecting to see a gearbox somewhere in the photo ,at the very least.

It could have been a '1200rallycar 5 speed'.
Those bastard gearboxes with the void above reverse

I also thought the puzzle was pretty hard. I laughed for about 5 seconds when I first saw the photos.

Geeeez I don't know how anyone can identify it as being a 5 speed from those pics.

Maybe if you took a pic of the bellhousing up close, to see if it had a smooth case (5-speed) or if it had ridges along it (4-speed)
then that would help.

So I take it that you have only seen it in these pics, otherwise you would of tried out the gearbox to see if it selected a 5th gear Also that's the fuel filter sitting along side the dual master cylinder, not a hydralic clutch cylinder.

GO THE DATTO!

Thats not a clutch master cylinder ... it's the fuel filter, the clutch cable can be easily seen beside the brake booster. From what I can see theres no way of telling whether it's a 4 or 5 speed.
No Sunny came out in Aus with a 5speed except for the very last imported station wagon which VERY few of them had a 63a series gearboxes.
