The block is tagged a14.
Guess the next thing to do is to pull the thermostat housing and see if there is actually an air port behind it, as the air check is blocked off.

Casper, that is the answer I was looking for.
Just kidding.
You used many words to say nothing.
I have a coupe not a sdoor sedan.

could it be an A13?

on the right hand side of the engine, between the dizzy, (distributor) and the back of the engine and the back of the engine there should be a rectangular (but machined) flat spot on the block it should read "A13" or "A14"

it will probably be covered in oil but clean away the grime; the engine will tell you it's secrets!...

B210 H50 to H81

As it says datsun, must be a '73 -> '76 model, after which it says nissan, but the cover could have been switched for an earlier one, so hard to tell.

Looks like an 210 - A12 head.

It's all B210..Probably pre-horrible pollution stuff, like was fitted in 1976.

Chris

I just aquired another b210 coupe yesterday, and yippee, its got a 5 speed. Came with many parts including 3 grilles, 4 bumpers, 4 speed box, 5 speed box, lots o' stuff.

Anyways the guy said he replaced the engine. I am trying to figure out the head castings (don't you love this question?).

The valve cover says "datsun" and has a steel vacuum rail on the right that bolts on the cover.

The casting reads
#13 H7240

The block however has a boring H72 cast on it, so nothing special there.
