I have to be honest with you, Pitbull.
We have a coupe in NZ which does 7s over the 1/4. And NZ was rated two places behind SA. But we're not complaining

I HAVE TO BE HONEST WITH YOU GUYS, BUT YOUR RATINGS CONCERNING SOUTH AFRICA IS ALL WRONG.
WITHOUT DOUBT WE HAVE THE FASTEST UTE IN THE WORLD OWNED BY LOUIS LIMA DOING 8.4s ON QTR MILE, 670kW AND OVER A 1000nm/TORQUE.
WE HAVE AT LEAST 10 - 15 UTE's THAT CAN CLOCK MORE THAN 330km/h AND ALL OF THEM DOING 10seconds or less ON QTR MILE.
BUT THE BAD NEWS IS THAT ALL THESE VEHICLES OWNERS ARE MILLIONARES OR ALMOST MILLIONARES, BECAUSE THE PRICES WE HAVE TO PAY TO GET TURBO'S, NITROUS AND GOOD CONVERSIONS ARE BEYOND MOST PEOPLES FINANCIAL MEANS.MOTORSPORT IN SOUTH AFRICA IS EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE, TOO MANY GUYS ALSO READY TO RIPP YOU OFF IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING.AN EXAMPLE A TURBO CONVERSION ON A 2.0STI NISSAN SENTRA COSTS NO LESS THAN R30k.YOU DO THE MATH
BUT I LOVE MY LITTLE 1200GX AND BETWEEN THE TRAFFIC LIGHTS IM THE KING!!!!
No offense was meant by placing South Africa in the #4 position, it's just my personal list. I thought maybe it should be higher, but there are so many places to visit, and I don't know anyone in SA. I have invitations to Australia and Portugal so I put them ahead.

I know what you mean about traffic, I see that those 1200 drivers in Johannesburg are crazy:

Yes, I mean the 1400 LDV (B140). No matter that an A14 has replaced the A12. It's still a variation of the "Datsun 1200" range, with the same body and suspension as the Datsun 1200 truck B120/B122 (except that the roof is taller).

And I've heard 1200's cease production in S. Africa this year. Can any of you S.A. boys confirm???

1200 Datsuns stopped production in the late 70's.
However,if you refering to the Nissan 1400 UTEs, they are still in production, and dont think its gonna go out anytime soon.
The "Nissan 1400 Bakkie" as known in SA, was given the name CHAMP, due to its durablity and reliability over the years.
These UTE's are still being sold in large quantities to the commercial industries, despite it having alot of rivals in the half tonner market sector.

The best race track records in SA have been set by converted Nissan 1400 UTEs, due to it being cheap in price, and easy for conversions.

As for 1200 utes and sedans, I see them more often in SA, than ever before.
They have made a grand comeback, and looking better than ever before.

In my opinion, South Africa's no 1 in Dattos.

Long live the Datsuns, and Nissans.

Will post Pics of our proud Dattos soon

I was also amazed at how many Datsun are still about in Fiji.
My GF and I when on a holiday about 6 months ago.
Many saw b310s and b210s but saw a few 1200's and a 330 cedric Taxi.

NB There were many many Toyota crown taxis, ugly as sin.

Unfortunately I was too slow to get a picture of the yellow 1200 taxi as it went past. I did get some other pictures I've put some of them online..
