On another note Rank rotary made a 12a into a 10a by milling the housings, seals, rotors and a machined eccentric shaft.
Its is to compete in the 2ltr and under class hence 1990cc or something all up.
This thing revs to 12,000rpm from what I heard and makes just on 200hp.
But I agree with going to CA instead for similar gains, better economy and more.
However in Nsw there is a single rotor renesis modifier/maker for aeroplanes and makes them as a half a renesis (latest 6 port engine of 270hp NA) it still has the same exhaust volume and inlet port volume as an old PP 12a.
This equates to around 180-200hp NA with 40mpg and 350hp with a good snail.

Well guys I have the exact project now but stumbled with the exhaust part of things.
The problem is the steering box and I dont know how Huntingdale autos have managed here. Datoman1000 has done enough favours to get the photos he has already for me so I wont ask again. However I feel that this car is only getting 8.5 seconds intead of mid 7s because of the restrictive exhaust. Ive tried trial fitting for the best positiong and the exhaust has to be very tight and curved quickly to fit. Unlike any other american cars that have the steering box on the side. One way I found that improvements can be made for a better exhaust is by tilting it 20 degrees. This will need custom bellhousing, front mount and custom sump (well sump will be custom regardless). It wont suffer from any oiling problems when titled and factory twin honda vtr 48mm mikuni carbs running at 60 degrees will fuel it nicely and better than a 48mm weber when jetted properly.
Ill take pics as soon as Ive worked out the bellhousing issues otherwise Im going to plan "twenty" which another totally different engine which I have sitting there impatiently.

Yes, that is the car I was talking about.

As for the 10A it is rare because you are unable to get big horsepower, mainly due to the main seals you are required to use, I had a friend who had a monster port 10a and he would have to put seals in it about every 15000 km's as they would not hold up. Speak to any rotary specialist and they will tell you to stay away unless you are really desperate, thus the reason am going down the nissan motor path. I believe you will most likely get bigger numbers out of a turbo nissan motor than a apirated 10A rotary anyway.

10A were the first factory Mazda rotary's. And no, they aren't really much good, hence the fact they are so rare

Someone mentioned to me that they have a friend who recently bought a R100 with a 10A in it. And I believe he was going to swap it for a 12A.
He'll probably read this thread soon too
