ooohh looks nice, buy it!

I think I remember that setup being on ebay recently for a hell of a lot more than $350, I definately remember that manifold.
Its for a single sidedraught weber/dellorto/solex, but looks too long to work with strut towers, maybe it would work in a 1000?

I am pretty sure this is a genuine A12gx head. Pic is attached below.

One thing I would like to know is whether the manifold is setup for twin or single carbs?

Cheers

there seems to be a lot of "GX" heads about
the only head to have is original 1200 with double valve springs and higher oval ports than the 1400 gx heads which have water jacket above the port wheras the 1200 does not
I run an A15 with a genuine 1200 gx head un modified with 40 mm webers , light fly wheel, exstractors, balanced.
producing 130 hp at the fly wheel
hope this helps

ok, i guess what I am after is a fairly tuff streeter. That can get up & go when required. Not like a race engine or such.

The reason why I suggested a A12gx head is that I can get one fairly cheap with hi flow manifold to suit webers. when I say cheap i mean around $350 for head & manifold.

Is this cheap?? Is it worth it or should I spend my hard earned cash on another type of setup.

Cheers

90hp at the wheels with that combo never.
A fully worked head does nothing without the rest of the necessary gear. A 2.5 inch exh will make it go backwards.

DDgonzal has a great tech section for heads and youll see some a14/a15 are better than the gx. The a15 is the bottom end to have anyway. Steve newing had the 82mm stroke in his u2lt umbeatable 1200 for ten years.

sounds good. Is the head just a straight bolt up to the A14 engine?

I'd say the A14 is the better motor of the two to use, and you should be looking around 90 horses at the treads, maybe a little more...

Hi there I am interested to find out what HP gains is there to be had using an A14 stock engine with 2.5 "" exhaust and a 32/36 Weber and used a A12gx full ported head onto the A14?

Or would a A12 engine be better suited for this setup?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
Chris.
