Hi,
The car is a coupe, from the pics TnPshow sent me it looks like a red one that is in there
1978.
I hope i get some offers of help as i cant bog or panelbeat, mostly its the rust around rear window and front sill. Need to get that done to get it roadworthy and head gasket is blown.
I will upload some pics of it sometime.
I hope it wil be worthwhile spending the money on it.

You forgot to add shopping and coffee to your list of things worth living for,

Datgirl

A front wheel drive car probably best to stick with an A-14 or A-15 type motor. Unless a sentra / pulsar setup can be adapted into it.

I'm sure that you will get plenty of offers of help, & as for it being ugly, well we know what became of the ugly duckling don't we.

With the right paint, the right wheels & tyres, & the right attitude [ride height & general stance] it can easily be transformed into a beautifull swan.

Which body type is your car?

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
Im in Auckland, I was after a 120y coupe but this was for sale on trademe and internet site here in NZ.
Its 1978, and has some rust but still running.
Its looks a bit different and Ive been told its ugly but i can see its potential.
Not sure if i should keep it with original engine or put something bigger in?
Im glad ive found this site though it will be a good way to stay on track with the restoration.

Welcome aboard Datgirl - that's a rare one you've got there.... Where are you located?

I was in Adelaide Z-Cars about 5 years a go and they had one rotting away out the back.

They were going to sell it to me for about $250, but the rust was too bad and I had too many Datsuns!!

Here's some links to pics of your beastie:
